wine of the day

i meant to post this yesterday actually … i enjoyed this last night while making dinner:

DSCF1871

it’s a pretty dry white, which means erik doesn’t like it, which means yay more for me. and yes, one of my criteria for buying wines is “is there an animal on the bottle?” and i am not, i repeat not, going to apologize for that in any way, shape, or form. this was new to me, so here’s some information on what Torrontes is …

  1. Oh, goodness – buying wine based on whether there is an animal on that label is an incredibly valid way to choose wine! I do exactly the same thing – my favorite wine that I can’t get in Virginia has a llama on the front. πŸ™‚

(Sorry I’ve been so absent lately, things have been nutty.)

thank you! some make fun, but wine with a monkey on the bottle is just too much fun to drink. i don’t care what anyone says …

hey, i figure you’ve been a busy, busy bee. it’s summer! you should be… just as long as everything alright and you’re having a good time. πŸ™‚

oh, yum yum yum. i love argentinian and chilean sav blancs; they have such a bolder, earthier taste than ones from california or new zealand (though i really like new zealand ones on a hot summer day). this looks really delish; maybe i can use it with a buttery roasted chicken!

and hey, firesteed has an animal on the label and I’M NOT SORRY.

i feel totally vindicated now. i’m not going to let erik roll his eyes the next time i get the wine with the penguin on it …

i love argentinian/chilean wines, too. the malbec is probably my favorite …

  5. I probably wouldn’t like that wine either… but I would have picked it and for the same reason as you… the llamas!!
