countdown …

to my favorite meal in the entire year. yes, i mean Thanksgiving. the menu so far is looking like this:

herb butter turkey (with rosemary, thyme, and sage)
mashed yukon golds (mashed potatoes are erik’s domain)
cranberry sauce (homemade, not canned)
my mom’s noodles (i don’t know if anyone else does noodles at thanksgiving; my mom always did, so i  do)
pioneer woman’s rosemary butter rolls (baked in a large cast iron skillet)
candied sweet potatoes (yuck. i make them, because erik and my father in law love them)
mom’s dressing (yuck. again, erik likes this a lot.)
shaved brussels sprouts with onions, bacon, and lemon zest
regular pumpkin pie
pumpkin pie with brown sugar pecan topping (from Bon Appetit’s thanksgiving issue)
apple pie (for erik, the lone odd duck who doesn’t like pumpkin)
maple whipped cream for the pies

this is gonna be AWESOME.
